Alps in transition

Rethinking Alpine lifestyles for an ecologically, socially and economically sustainable transition

The ecological transition is already happening in the Alps – and we are in the middle of it. In order to face the unprecedented environmental and sustainability challenges ahead, we need to change our lifestyles and rethink our energy consumption, our production methods, our food supply… Beyond the energy, economic and agri-food transitions, many other sectors are experiencing transitions of their own, such as tourism, mobility or spatial planning.

We want to explore these topics – and many more – during the AlpWeek 2022 in Brig-Glis. There is no single solution but rather many different approaches to the ecological transition in the Alps. Quality of life, carbon-friendly living, and citizen participation will be at the core of the solutions we will develop during the AlpWeek.

Be part of the discussion!

Whether you are a young person, a member of a non-profit organisation, a researcher, a civil servant, a politician, or an Alpine inhabitant, we invite you to join the AlpWeek and share your ideas to shape the transition in the Alps.

Inspiring keynotes, interactive workshops, cultural happenings, local excursions as well as a youth conference are in the making.

More information are available on the website www.alpweek.org. The program is now online. Register for the event until 23. August
